Lions add Lafayette guard

The Scranton native comes to Penn State with one season of eligibility remaining. Tripleheaders planned for 2024-25 playoffs

The Associated Press The College Football Playoff released on Tuesday a schedule for the 12-team format that will be used in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, which will feature New Year’s Day quarterfinal tripleheaders but no games played on Saturday. CFP Executive Director Bill Hancock said last week after the board of managers had met in Dallas that the calendar had been decided upon. The final piece was placing games and sites on the dates. Illinois player joins PSU

UNIVERSITY PARK — The Penn State women’s basketball team signed Illinois transfer Jayla Oden, Lady Lions coach Carolyn Kieger announced Tuesday. Oden spent the last two seasons with the Fighting Illini and has two years of eligibility left. At Illinois, Oden played in 50 games and started 18 for the Fighting Illini. She averaged 5.2 points per game and made 19 3-pointers in her two seasons. Oden accumulated 11 double-digit scoring performances over the two seasons and started 13 games during her sophomore season. She averaged 4.5 points in 16.2 minutes per game.

Penn State wrestling benefits from portal this offseason

The two main objectives of the offseason for Penn State wrestling were to find replacements for Roman Bravo-Young at 133 pounds and Max Dean at 197 pounds. Penn State seemingly filled the 197-pound spot last week when three-time All-American Bernie Truax out of Cal Poly committed to Penn State. Now, Penn State has served the other objective. This past Tuesday night, Minnesota’s Aaron Nagao announced his intentions to come to State College. Nagao was brilliant last year as a redshirt freshman with the Golden Gophers. The Associated Press SANTA CLARA, Calif. — After having to wait a day to make their first pick in the NFL draft, the San Francisco 49ers traded up and selected safety Ji’Ayir Brown from Penn State with the 87th overall selection Friday night.
