UNIVERSITY PARK -- Two of the Penn State’s standout freshman recruits did just that in the Nittany Lions' 46-10 victory over Ohio University on Saturday in the home opener before 107,306 at Beaver Stadium. Freshman tailback Nick Singleton rushed for 179 yards on 10 carries -- including a 70-yard touchdown to give the Nittany Lions 14-0 lead -- and fellow frosh Drew Allar entered in the third quarter and threw for two touchdowns. PSU rallies past Purdue, 35-31, to win opener

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Penn State opened the season on a winning note Thursday night. Sean Clifford found Keyvone Lee open for a 10-yard touchdown pass with 57 seconds to go, lifting the Nittany Lions to a 35-31 victory in a back-and-forth game before 57,307 at Ross-Aide Stadium. Penn State's defense made a final stand to clinch the victory. The Lions led 21-10 at halftime but Purdue punched in two touchdowns to take a 24-21 lead into the fourth quarter.
