Nittany Lions ink 25 recruits
College signing day
UNIVERSITY PARK — Coach James Franklin unveiled the 2024 Penn State football recruiting class on Wednesday in the Lasch Football Building, and it features 25 players.
Sixteen of the signees will be early enrollees in January — Liam Andrews, Antoine Belgrave-Shorter, Eagan Boyer, Josiah Brown, De’Andre Cook, Cooper Cousins, T.A. Cunningham, Xavier Gilliam, Ethan Grunkemeyer, Jaylen Harvey, Kari Jackson, Quinton Martin Jr., Jon Mitchell, Luke Reynolds, Garrett Sexton and Vaboue Toure.
“I think if you look at our class, it’s pretty well-rounded,” Franklin said. “We were really able to fill needs at every position, as well as signing so we can continue to develop across the board.”
Penn State signed 20 recruits that were rated four stars or higher by 247Sports, On3, ESPN or Rivals. The Lions were ranked by 247Sports to have the 14th best class in the nation.
The Nittany Lions found success in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions as 15 of the signees came from within a 200-mile radius of State College. Penn State’s class features players from 12 different states.
We want the best players in PA to stay in PA, and specifically, at Penn State,” Franklin said. “If you look at us, we have a tremendous hit, if you say, in terms of the guys that have chosen to stay home.”
