IOWA CITY, Iowa — Penn State won the battle of the top wrestling teams on Friday night.
The Nittany Lions, ranked No. 1 in the nation, grinded out a 19-13 victory over No. 2 Iowa before a raucous crowd at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Penn State (14-0, 6-0 Big Ten) won its 25th dual meet in a row and ended Iowa’s string of 29 straight overall and 22 straight at home.

Penn State took a 10-0 lead with Drew Hildebrandt racking up enough points to earn a major decision over Iowa’s Jesse Ybarra at 125 pounds. Top-ranked Roman Bravo-Young then decisioned Iowa’s No. 3 Austin DeSanto, 3-2, at 133, and PSU’s top-ranked Nick Lee earned a 6-4 overtime win over Iowa’s No. 2 Jaydin Eierman.
