Cumming, BCE to open up tournament today

Cumming Motors and Brent Cogan Electric both found out their opponents Sunday night for the All-American Amateur Baseball Association Tournament which begins today in Johnstown and surrounding areas.
BCE will play Butler today in the Pool A bracket while New Orleans will play New York in the other game in the bracket. The BCE game is at Lilly at noon.
In Pool C, Cumming Motors will play Buffalo in its opener today while Philadelphia takes on Brooklyn in the other Pool C game. The Cumming-Buffalo game is at Mount Aloysius at noon.
On Tuesday, BCE will play New Orleans while Cumming Motors will play Brooklyn. The BCE-New Orleans game is at 10 a.m. at St. Michael. The Cumming Motors-Buffalo game is at Lilly at noon.
On Wednesday, BCE gets New York while Cumming Motors gets Philadelphia. The BCE-New York game is at Lilly at noon. The Cumming Motors-Philly game is at Portage at noon.
The rest of the tournament field looks like this: Pool B includes New Brunswick, Columbus, Johnstown Mainline and Youngstown while Pool D includes Maryland, Cleveland, Zanesville and Johnstown Martella’s.
Lilly, BCO move on
Lilly smacked 11 hits and put up all 11 runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings of an 11-1 victory over Refresh Med Spa to advance to the Greater City League championship with a 2-0 series sweep in the best-of-three semifinals on Saturday at Vets Field.
Brandon Ickes led the Lilly offense with three hits, three RBIs and three runs scored, while Ryan Ickes pounded three hits, drove in two runs and crossed the plate twice.
Josh Bracken knocked in a pair of runs for Lilly, while Jordan McCall tallied two hits and Lucas McCoy scored twice.
Jextin Pugh had one of just four Refresh hits and accounted for the lone run batted in.
n Winning pitcher Mike Turiano recorded two hits and two RBIs to lead Blair County Oil to a 10-3 win over Sheetz to clinch the best-of-three semifinal playoffs series in game two of Greater City League action on Saturday at Vets Field.
Brayden Harbaugh and Sean Steffy notched two hits apiece for BCO, while Tyler Sweeney, Chris Callari and Brendan Kuhns scored twice.
Sam Carmel delivered two hits for Sheetz, while Eric Grace scored two of the three runs and Evan Sanders struck out eight in getting the loss.
Lilly and Blair County Oil will start the finals on Wednesday.
