Masters bowling event scheduled for Saturday
There will be 114 bowlers on hand — some of Pennsylvania’s highest scorers this season — competing at The Masters this Saturday at Holiday Bowl in Altoona.
The event begins at 10 a.m.
According to Altoona District USBC officials, when the number of entries hit 100, the guarantee of $5,000 for first place officially became a reality for the event. Many of those 114 entries are from the area as well.
Registration is closed but local fans can still attend the event. It is a one-day competition with five game qualifying blocks across five pairs. The field will then be cut to the top 25 percent and pin fall will carry over.
The semifinals will be another three-game block across three pairs. The field will be cut to the top five for a step ladder finals to determine the champion. The champion will also be offered an entry into the USBC Masters or any entry into next year’s event.
