Alvarez starts Curve’s 20-20 club

It’s amazing, really, that it took this long, since the Curve have had a whole bunch of outstanding players over the past 22 seasons. Endy Rodriguez homered for the second game in a row, but Akron picked up eight runs on 10 hits to defeat Altoona, 8-4, on Friday night at PNG Field. Akron scored in each of the first four innings. Micah Pries hit an RBI-single in the first inning off Curve starter Kyle Nicolas. Julian Escobedo hit a sacrifice fly in the second. Endy Rodriguez hit two home runs and Nick Gonzales recorded three hits as the Curve took advantage of four Akron errors and defeated the RubberDucks, 13-7, on Thursday night at PNG Field. Altoona scored six runs in the bottom of the third inning off Thomas Ponticelli and five runs in the eighth off Aaron Pinto.
