Curfew wipes out Curve-Akron game

AKRON, Ohio — Due to Akron’s city-wide curfew, the Akron RubberDucks postponed the game against the Altoona Curve scheduled for Monday. The curfew is in place due to protests that escalated after nightfall on Sunday. “Early yesterday, we had several peaceful protests in the downtown footprint related to the officer-involved shooting of Jayland Walker,’’ Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan said in a statement released to the media. “These protests did not escalate to violence and destruction. ...
