Lady Lions sign guard
UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State women’s basketball head coach Tanisha Wright announced the first signee to her 2026-27 roster in four-star guard Kamrah Banks.
The point guard from Indianapolis becomes the first addition for Wright to her incoming class.
Banks arrives following an accomplished high school career. The four-star guard leaves Crispus Attucks as the all-time leading scorer where she also set a new school record for most points scored in a single game with 63. In the state of Indiana, that feat ranks fourth on the single-game scoring record list.
In her final high school season, Banks averaged 20.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.4 steals per game. She led her squad in points per game and points. The proficient point guard earned all-city first-team honors in back-to-back seasons while being tabbed a 2026 McDonald’s All-American nominee.
She was named the no. 1 combo guard in the state of Indiana in addition to her top 100 ranking. The 2024-25 season exceeded expectations for Banks. The Indianapolis native averaged 26.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 1.8 assists per game.
