As our community prepares for the nation’s 250th anniversary, I hope organizers will pause before repeating the familiar tale that William and Adam Holliday arrived here in 1768 and began homesteading on the site of present‑day Hollidaysburg. The world has always been on fire is a way of stating that one power or one person wants what the other has. The president wishes to be the sole power in this country and the world. Americans don’t want another war

Roughly 70% of Americans oppose war with Venezuela. Even many of Donald Trump’s loyal supporters do not want to be dragged into another open-ended conflict — especially one launched without Congressional authorization, in direct violation of the Constitution. Restoring Gable’s building not worth it

To even remotely consider it prudent to spend millions of dollars to restore the Gable’s building is total insanity. Having personally worked in the building for 13 years, I have felt it sway from the earthquake that hit Richmond, Va., and even more so when an adjacent structure was torn down. No engineering study could ever convince me that the building is safe. The unfortunate reality of the situation is that the only sensible future for the property is to tear the Gable’s building and adjacent parking garage down. It’s time for accuracy, not lies. Let’s get the record straight. Alexi Pretti was not a domestic terrorist as some Trump supporters claim. Once again the Trump administration is spreading inaccurate information and lies about Pretti and his intent.
