Jeffery Scott Shearer

Jeffery S. Shearer, 64, of Altoona, passed away April 22, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Donald Sr. and Nancy (Hartz) Shearer. On Sept. 2, 1994, Jeffrey married Theresa Ann Shea in Altoona. She preceded him in death on Aug 8, 2021. Surviving are a stepson, Kurtis (Autumn) Garland; and stepdaughter, Rachael (Jason) Randall; a sister, Lisa Shearer; and two brothers, Donald W. Shearer and Shawn Shearer. Jeff worked at Walmart. There will be no services. Arrangements are by Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.

Maynard L. Smith, 80, Altoona, died Saturday, April 25, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Community Baptist Church, Altoona. David Allan Coe, the country singer-songwriter who wrote the working-class anthem “Take This Job and Shove It” and had hits with “Mona Lisa Lost Her Smile” and “The Ride” among others, has died.
