Florence J. Brown

Florence J. Brown, 89, formerly of Altoona, died Thursday at Maple Heights Health & Rehab, Ebensburg. She was born in Claysburg, daughter of the late William and Ida (Dively) Weyandt. Surviving are two children, William F. Brown (Beth) and Susan Brown, both of Altoona; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Jeanie was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell; a son, Russell; and all 14 of her siblings. All services will be private. Interment will take place at Blair Memorial Park. Arrangements by Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Duncansville.

Betty L. Bickford

Betty L. Bickford, 90, of Flinton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday at her residence. She was born in Colver, a daughter of the late Ruben P. and Catherine C. (Ball) Bush. On Dec. 3, 1953, in Conemaugh, she married Paul M. Bickford, her beloved husband of 72 years, who survives. Bernice C. Hoover

Bernice C. Hoover, 81, Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Portage, daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Kratzen) Beres. She married Bernard T. “Bernie” Hoover in Altoona on Oct. 12, 1985. He preceded her in death. Surviving are two stepsons, Greg (Karen) and Bill Hoover; three sisters: Mildred Vaughn, Cathy Ceirzega and Patty Beres; and her nephew, Robert Beres.
