Bernice C. Hoover, 81, Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Portage, daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Kratzen) Beres. She married Bernard T. "Bernie" Hoover in Altoona on Oct. 12, 1985. He preceded her in death. Surviving are two stepsons, Greg (Karen) and Bill Hoover; three sisters: Mildred Vaughn, Cathy Ceirzega and Patty Beres; and her nephew, Robert Beres. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Altoona.
