John Russel Palmer Jr.

John Russel Palmer Jr., 98, Coalport, died Wednesday. He was born in Lyleville, son of the late John Sr. and Emma (Freeman) Palmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; granddaughter, Jennifer Shawley; and siblings: Emma Jean and Donald Palmer and Janet Monroe. Surviving are children: Gary, Thomas, James, Robert and Ronald Palmer, JoAnn Shawley, Mary Peoples and Janet Grimes; his grandchildren; a sister, Faye Baker; and sister-in-law, Colleen Palmer. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2025, at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., 1303 Bigler Ave., Northern Cambria.

Michael John O’Neil

Michael John O’Neil, 74, of Henrico, Va., formerly of Darien, Conn., died Wednesday. He was born in Darien, Conn., son of the late Richard O’Neil and Virginia (Stiles) O’Neil-Vanden Bosch. Surviving are a sister, Maureen, of Ellington, Conn.; and 10 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Brian and David O’Neil. He was a graduate of the American School for the Deaf in Hartford, Conn. He retired as a master machinist from Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford, Conn. A celebration of life is planned for a later date. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Marceline Riley and Lawrence Earl O’Neill, proprietor of O’Neill Hotel, Hollidaysburg.
