Terry William Hoenstine, 69, of Imler, went home with the Lord on Good Friday at his home. He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Arthur and Nancy (Weyandt) Hoenstine.
He married Beth Ann Miller on Oct. 14, 1978, in East Freedom.
Surviving are his wife, Beth; daughters, Erin Kyle and fiance, Zack, and Kendra Michele; grandchildren: Kenley, Presley, Brooklyn, Jackson and Charlie Jo; sisters, Cathy Helsley (Galen) and Debbie Jacobs (Kevin); and a brother, Michael Hoenstine (Penny).
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Kyle Miller; and a niece, Amanda.
Terry was a 1975 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School. He retired as a Game Lands Maintenance Supervisor from the Pennsylvania Game Commission in 2015. He also served as a Deputy Game Warden, where he made lifelong friendships with John Corle and Tom Lewis. He also worked at various gun shops in the area, lastly being at Long’s Outpost. He currently worked part time at Zeigler Chevrolet.
Terry was a proud member of Claysburg Bible Church, whom he considered to be his extended family. He also served as a board member at the Altoona Rescue Mission. He was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan and enjoyed NASCAR, firearms, hunting and fishing with his buddy, Bob Dick. His greatest joy, and most important to him, was spending time with his family, grandkids and friends.
Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon memorial service Thursday, April 9,2026, at Claysburg Bible Church, 11751 William Penn Road, Imler, with Pastor Keith Showalter officiating. Private interment will be at Greenfield Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.
