Cora E. (McCloskey) Helsel, 93, of Hollidaysburg, passed away March 26, 2026. She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Addie and Dorothy (Mathews) McCloskey.
She married Robert Helsel in 1950, who preceded her in death in 1963 after sharing 13 years of marriage.
Surviving are two daughters, Robin Gergen and husband, Raymond, and Candy Pelipesky and husband, Larry; a son, Clifford “Scott”; four grandchildren: Cindy, Wayne, Jason and Stephanie; and five great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Cora, Ryan, Reed and Aubrey.
She was preceded in death by two infant sons, David and Bobby; and siblings.
Cora retired from James E. Van Zandt Medical Center in 1997 after 10 years.
She enjoyed line dancing, cooking, baking and genealogy.
Friends will be received from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 2 p.m.
Private interment at Presbyterian Cemetery.
