Rachel M. Lynn

On June 1, 1957, at United Brethren Church in Tyrone, she married Charles Elmer Lynn, who preceded her on Jan. 8, 2025.

She is survived by four children: Diane Brinkman, Charles E. (Tina) Lynn Jr., Leroy J. (Karen) Lynn and Carol Shaw; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by two siblings, Donald and Gerald Friday. She was the last of her immediate family.

She was a 1956 graduate of Tyrone High School and member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than 50 years. She also helped out at Bald Eagle United Methodist Church for their summer Vacation Bible School.

She enjoyed baking and was often commissioned to make cakes and cookies. She made many wedding cakes, and one Christmas, she made more than 4,000 cookies. She was also a self-taught pianist.

A celebration of life service for Rachel M. Lynn will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Bald Eagle Grange.

Contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
