Marianne Muri Banholzer, 92, of Pennsylvania Furnace, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Philip J. and Hilda M. (Wirtner) Bauman.

She married Paul H. Muri, who preceded her in death in 1974, and later married Stephen M. Banholzer, who also preceded her in death in 2012.

Surviving are her nine children: Paul H. Muri Jr., David T. (Lynne) Muri, Mark S. (Cindy) Muri, Terri J. (Lou) Colabove, Dianne (John) Crust, Cathy L. (Hank) Adamson, Marcella A. Fickes, Joan F. Rossman and Lori A. Muri (Nate). Also surviving are 14 grandchildren: Molly, Jennifer, David, Jimmy, Jason, Louie, Shelli, Paula, Megan, Mallory, Joshua, Aubree, Alex and Kenyth; 30 great-grandchildren: Madelyn, Allison, Evan, Mitchel, Sophia, Noah, Elijah, Leah, Samuel, Jasalyn, Devin, Mackenzie, Madison, Madelynn, Lily, Anderson, Ellory, Emory, Noah, Nate, Morgan, Seth, Gabe, Rayna, JJ, Jason, Jaxin, Jagger, Judith and Ivan; six great-great-grandchildren: Ryker, Nova, Beau, Rylan, Dominic and Eva; her sister, Patti Boslet; many nieces and nephews; and a close family friend, Wendy Boone.

Marianne was preceded in death by her son, Michael C. Muri; three grandchildren: Jason Colabove, Christina Kearn and Joshua McConnell; four sisters: Jean Ann Bauman, Rosemary Riscigno, Ruth Weamer and Anita M. Bauman; and by two brothers, Philip “Joe” Bauman and Paul J. Bauman.

Marianne attended Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School and was a 1951 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. Louis Pease in Harrisburg, as a school crossing guard at 58th Street and Sixth Avenue in Altoona, as a receptionist at Drs. Brande and Saad office and at Boscov’s in Harrisburg.

Marianne was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, past member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary in Harrisburg, member of the American Legion Auxiliary and most recently was a member and attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Port Matilda.

Marianne loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Rose Hill Funeral & Cremation Care Inc., 118 Rosehill Cemetery Drive, Altoona.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 2700 Broad Ave., Altoona, with Father James Dugan, officiant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

The family is planning a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Port Matilda.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 2700 Broad Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
