John Michael “Mike” Spidle, 59, of Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John “Jack” and Mary Lou (Burk) Spidle. He married Shelly Hazenstab in 1988.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years; two daughters, Samantha Jarrett and husband, Devin, and Alicia Gibson and husband, Steven, all of Hollidaysburg; six sisters: Susan Rhodes, Cathy Butler, Anne Conrad, Joyce Spidle, Diane Yoder and Carolyn Morris; a brother, Bruce; a grandson, Theodore; and granddaughter, Rowan.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Spidle.
Mike graduated from Hollidaysburg High School and worked at Appvion for 30-plus years as a machine operator. He then worked in road maintenance for PennDOT.
He was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society and St. Mary Roman Catholic Church.
Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, wood-working and watching the Steelers.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will immediately follow at noon.
Private committal will be held at Alto-Reste Park.
