Mary Ann ‘Mutz’ Housel
April 16, 1960 – Feb. 28, 2022
Mary Ann “Mutz” Housel, 61, of Altoona, passed away Monday at home. She was born in Roaring Spring, the daughter of Regina (Burk) Walter and the late Levi E. Walter.
Surviving is her mother of Altoona, a daughter, Kristy Black (Rodney Hosterman) of Altoona; a son, Joseph Housel Jr. (Ramona Ward) of Duncansville; four grandchildren: Haylee and Ryan Black, Brody Hostermen and Jaiden Housel; a sister, Deb Edmundson; a brother, Ray Walter; her special friend, Kenneth Goodfellow; and her former husband, Joseph Housel Sr.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Candy.
Mary was a 1978 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School. She was employed as a certified nursing assistant at Guardian Healthcare, Altoona and she attended Foot of Ten Independent Baptist Church, Duncansville.
Mary enjoyed cooking and cookbooks, cake decorating, her two cats, “June” and “Eddie” and taking care of people.
Mutz always put others first.
Friends will be received from 4 until the 7 p.m. funeral service Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, with Pastor Erik Lingenfelter officiating. Interment at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
