Elaine (Black) Cogley

Elaine (Black) Cogley, 65, Duncansville, died Wednesday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Alda (Swain) and the late James Black. Surviving are her two sons: Justin and wife, Brittany and Jordan, and wife, Kayla; a granddaughter, Lyla; a grandson, Connor; her mother; and a brother, Jim Black Jr. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Stephen. All services are private at Sorge Funeral Home.

Sheanna L. Gagliardi, 28, DuBois, formerly of Houtzdale, died Friday. She was born in Clearfield, daughter of Leonard Bloom and Sheena (Glass) Jordan. On June 11, 2022, she married Joshua D. Gagliardi Sr. In addition to her husband and parents, surviving are a son, Joshua Jr.; and siblings: Shiana, Mckinnion, Dravin, Garrett, Hunter and Ethan. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Jr. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, at Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale, where a funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. at the home.

Kenneth E. Mock, 77, Roaring Spring, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness. He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Raymond and Tina (Klotz) Mock. On May 29, 1998, he married Tina Zerby in Winchester, Va. Surviving are four children: Tom Dick and wife, Julie, of East Freedom, Kenneth J. James Richard “Jim” Edwards, 96, of Martinsburg, passed away July 24, 2025, after a sudden medical event. He was born in Altoona, to Mary Hazel (Prosser) and Leonard Philip Edwards. Jim served our country in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a son-in-law. Surviving are his soul mate and best friend, Lois; his daughters, Pam (Paul) and Connie (Mark); his son, Burt (Kim); and several grandchildren.
