Barbara J. Snider, 98, of Port Matilda, passed away peacefully on Sunday. Born in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Eleanor (Lane) Beckwith. In Fort Dix, N.J., she married Mort J. Snider, who preceded her in death in 1994. Barbara is survived by two sons, Mort (Linda) Snider and Michael (Trang) Snider; two grandchildren: Benjamin and Jasmine Snider; three stepgrandchildren: Bree Fogleman, Kristin Johnston and Andrea Gurekovich; and eight step-great-grandchildren. She married the love of her life, James Anthony Woods, on Oct. 28, 1960. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2021, after sharing 61 years of marriage. Michael J. ‘Red’ Deyarmin Sr.

Michael J. “Red” Deyarmin Sr., 56, Altoona, died Friday. He was born in Altoona son of the late Robert and Dolores Deyarmin. He married Karen Shauf who preceded him in death in 2007. Surviving are his son, Michael Jr. (Sierra); grandchildren, Rose and Roland; and a sister, Linda Walter. He was a 1987 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. Red was a life member of Allegheny Township Fire Department-Canan Station. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Services are private at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.

Willis R. “Will” Hockenberry, 82, Altoona, died Wednesday. He was born in Lewistown, son of the late Josephine (Tubbs) Funk and stepfather, Michael Funk. Surviving are children: Eric and Adam Hockenberry and Heather Franell; and grandchildren: Eric, Nicholas, Issac and Sarah. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathaniel; a brother; and a sister. Will was a U.S. Navy veteran. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, in the Stevens Memorial Chapel.
