Harrisburg couple faces drug delivery counts in Blair County
Harrisburg pair accused of trafficking narcotics to Blair
A Harrisburg couple are behind bars after allegedly trafficking a large amount of narcotics to the Blair County area.
Kyle Jerome Rudolph, 49, and Brittney Nichole Pogue, 29, were arraigned Wednesday on identical charges of three felony counts of possession with intent to deliver and a single felony count of conspiracy to commit possession with intent to deliver, as well as misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Rudolph was remanded to the Blair County Prison in lieu of $400,000, while Pogue was remanded in lieu of $250,000 bail.
About 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, Altoona police were patrolling the area near the 700 Chestnut Ave. Sheetz, a high crime and narcotics area, when they noticed a white Chevy Equinox registered to an address in Harrisburg that had been parked in the lot for an extended period of time. Officers watched as the vehicle exited the lot and circled the area with its lights off, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Officers performed a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Rudolph, the front seat passenger, Pogue, and a second passenger. Rudolph told officers he and Pogue had come to Altoona from Harrisburg to meet up with his cousin, the second passenger. When asked if there were any narcotics or weapons in the vehicle, Rudolph said no, the police report states.
Rudolph gave officers consent to search the vehicle, but Pogue denied their request to search her bags, saying they lacked “probable cause.” The bags were removed from the vehicle and placed on its hood, the report states.
During the vehicle search, officers located an empty zip-top baggie containing a white residue in the center console. Officers then summoned a K-9 officer to the scene, who conducted an open-air sniff of Pogue’s bags and alerted to the presence of narcotics, the report states.
Pogue then gave officers permission to search her bags. Officers located six baggies each containing about 3.5 grams of methamphetamine; 80 wax packets containing suspected fentanyl; about 3.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine; about 9 grams of marijuana; a red grinder; a green zip-top baggie; three cellphones and about $155 in cash. Officers estimated the street value of the suspected meth and fentanyl at $2,000 and $1,600, respectively, the report states.
Rudolph and Pogue are scheduled for preliminary hearings July 1 in front of Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. DeAntonio.
