Cow Patty Bingo will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Lakemont Park, where supporters can listen to live music, grab a bite to eat and win $2,000 if a cow poops on their pre-purchased square.

According to events and public relations coordinator Tobi Rispoli, supporters can pre-purchase squares for $5 or $10, which will be randomly placed in a 1,000-square grid on Lakemont Park’s field. When the cow is let loose on the field, it will naturally “let loose” on the winning square, determining that night’s $2,000 winner.

Wednesday’s free admission event will be part fun, part fundraiser and part family festival, Rispoli said.

“Cow patty bingo is exactly the kind of fun and ‘udderly’ absurd community event that makes people smile before they even arrive,” she said.

Thrivent financial planner Gary McGovern remembered attending a similar cow patty bingo event a few decades ago in Centre County. After Miracle League coordinators conducted research four years ago, they devised their own cow patty bingo event.

As the league is ringing in 20 years, Rispoli said they’re amping up the celebration by hosting a free musical performance by Tuna, food and drinks from Sugar Run Brewery, Casey’s Cafe and Belly Busters and an appearance from the Altoona Curve’s mascot, Al Tuna.

“Every ticket and every laugh helps support the incredible mission of Miracle League of Blair County as we celebrate 20 years of giving children with special needs the chance to experience the joy of baseball, friendship and community,” she said.
