JOHNSTOWN — The board of directors of Johnstown Area Regional Industries has appointed Brian Galiote as its new president/CEO, effective Feb. 16.
Galiote, a lifelong resident of the area, brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the defense and manufacturing industries, with a proven track record in contracts management, production planning, procurement, quality control and organizational leadership. He succeeds the organization’s previous leadership and will guide JARI’s continued mission of advancing economic development, innovation and workforce growth across the region.
“I am truly honored to be a part of the JARI team as I take an active role in further growing and developing our area,” Galiote said. “My hope is to build upon the strong foundation created by those who came before me by incorporating my 20-plus years of experience in the defense industry encompassing contracts, production planning, procurement and quality control. In addition, I am also looking forward to applying my experiences working with businesses on workforce development, economic development, leadership and company culture throughout the region as well.”
Throughout his career, Galiote has worked closely with cross-functional teams, government and defense partners, and manufacturing operations to improve performance, strengthen compliance and support long-term strategic growth. His background also reflects a strong commitment to mentoring, leadership development and cultivating positive workplace cultures — priorities that closely align with JARI’s regional mission.
As president and CEO, Galiote will oversee JARI’s programs, partnerships and strategic initiatives, with a focus on supporting regional manufacturers, strengthening the defense industrial base, advancing innovation and expanding workforce and economic development opportunities throughout Cambria and Somerset counties and the surrounding region.
