City man killed in early morning crash

An Altoona man was killed in an accident on I-99 early Saturday morning.
Andrew Wolford, 23, died from blunt force injuries suffered when he was struck by a vehicle on the interstate, according to the Blair County Coroner’s Office and state police.
According to the state police report, the incident happened at 3:50 a.m. after a crash involving a disabled vehicle in the right hand lane of southbound I-99 in Snyder Township, Blair County.
Wolford was the driver of a Buick Lucerne that was disabled due to a previous crash, police reported. After the initial crash, Wolford exited his vehicle and was walking across the interstate when a Honda Civic hit the Buick, which was pushed into a Freightliner.
Wolford was killed in the secondary crash, according to the report.
