Congressman John Joyce, R-Blair, has announced his plans to run for re-election to represent Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, a seat he has held since 2019.
In a statement, Joyce said he has focused on defending shared values and delivering real results for his constituents.
He has served as vice chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and now serves as chairman of the Energy and Commerce Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee. In addition, Joyce serves as co-chairman of the House GOP Doctors Caucus.
Joyce said his priorities have remained clear: delivering high-quality, affordable and accessible health care — especially in rural communities.
Protecting the sanctity of life, defending Second Amendment rights, expanding affordable American energy and enhancing access to high-speed internet across the 13th District continue to be priorities, he said.
As a Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives, Joyce has supported President Donald Trump’s America First agenda.
An Altoona native, Joyce grew up, attended school and raised his family in the 13th Congressional District. He went on to own and operate a small business with his wife, Dr. Alice Joyce. After earning his undergraduate degree from Penn State, he received his Doctor of Medicine from Temple University. Upon completing his postgraduate medical training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Joyce returned home to Altoona with board-certification in both internal medicine and dermatology. He served during Operation Desert Storm at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia.
As a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Dermatology, Joyce and his wife founded Altoona Dermatology Associates. For more than 25 years, he cared for families across central Pennsylvania, serving patients from all 12 counties of the 13th Congressional District.
