Clearfield man arrested after alleged attempt to meet up with teen
Sellers allegedly believed he was messaging 15-year-old girl
A Clearfield man was arrested after allegedly attempting to meet up with who he thought was a teenage girl.
Bryant Sellers, 36, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Brian Glass on Thursday with one felony count of statutory sexual assault – 11 years or older and unlawful contact with minors, as well as three misdemeanor counts of unlawful dissemination of intimate images and one misdemeanor count each of corruption of minors, possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
Unable to post $100,000 bail, he was remanded to Clearfield County Prison.
According to court documents, Sellers was engaged in online conversations with members of the 814PredHunters group, who were posing as a 15-year-old female.
In the conversations, Sellers allegedly shared illicit images and messages despite being told the girl’s age, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Clearfield Regional police reviewed the messages and, after a meeting place was agreed upon between Sellers and the decoy, officers confronted Sellers at the Clearfield fairgrounds Thursday, where he reportedly admitted to sending inappropriate messages and images to the teen, according to police records.
Upon a search of his person, police reportedly found suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the affidavit.
Sellers is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 21 before Glass.
