A Portage Township man was killed in a motorcycle crash early Friday morning.

Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said Ryan Steele, 27, was killed when his motorcycle left the road and struck a stop sign. The crash occurred near the intersection for Shady Springs Road and Springhill Road, Portage.

Steele was wearing a helmet, Lees said, noting blunt force trauma to the head and neck as the cause of death.

A toxicology report is pending.
