Two men are behind bars after being accused of an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday morning in Altoona.
According to Altoona police, Lamahr Isiah McCray, 32, of Philadelphia, and David Lee Freet, 36, of Altoona each face more than a dozen charges related to the robbery at Unique Tobacco (FeFi’s), 130 E. Sixth Ave.
Altoona police were dispatched shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday to the store, where it was reported that two men wearing full face coverings entered the store.
One man, later identified as Freet, was armed with a 9 mm Glock handgun, which he pointed at an employee while the other suspect, identified as McCray, jumped over the counter and grabbed a large amount of cash from the drawer, according to Altoona police.
Both men then fled on foot, police reported.

After an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, detectives were able to identify McCray and Freet and eventually traced them to a nearby residence, 125 E. Sixth Ave., where a search warrant was executed.
Both Freet and McCray were found hiding in the attic, police stated.
During the search, officers found a 9 mm Glock handgun suspected to be the weapon used during the robbery. In addition, officers found clothing worn during the robbery as well as a large amount of cash.
Both men have been arranged on felony charges of robbery – threat of immediate serious injury, robbery – commit threat, robbery – inflict threat, criminal conspiracy engaging – robbery, theft, flight to avoid apprehension, receiving stolen property and firearms not to be carried without a license, along with misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, possession of a weapon, recklessly endangering another person and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McCray also faces a felony charge of possession of a firearm prohibited.
Bail was set at $500,000 each and they were remanded to the Blair County Prison.
Their preliminary hearings are set for June 11 before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. DeAntonio.
