Osterburg man faces child porn charges

A Bedford County man is behind bars on child pornography and related charges after police found photos and video of nude female juveniles on his phone.

On Dec. 26, state police received a tip accusing Trevor Joshua Weyandt, 19, Osterburg, of sexually abusing several underage females, including a 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds, court documents state.

Police spoke to one victim who said sometime in fall 2022 during church, Weyandt showed her videos of a 16-year-old performing sex acts. He also showed her nude photos of a 16-year-old, the report states.

Police interviewed Weyandt on Dec. 27 at the Bedford police barracks, where due to exigent circumstances, police seized his cellphone to preserve any evidence related to sexual abuse of children by means of child pornography.

Police got a search warrant for the phone on Dec. 28, and a digital data dump of the phone was made by the Franklin County Drug Task Force, which sent a hard drive of the content back to the investigating officer on Jan. 19.

Police found several photographs of a nude female juvenile, video of a female juvenile performing sex acts and a video of a female juvenile and Weyandt having intercourse, the report states.

Weyandt was arraigned Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Kevin R. Diehl on felony charges of child pornography, photograph/film/depicting sex acts on a computer and disseminating photo/film of child sex acts along with a misdemeanor charge of corruption of minors.

Unable to post 10% of $50,000 bail, he was remanded to the Bedford County Correctional Facility. His preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 22 in Bedford County Central Court.
