CLEARFIELD — A Clearfield County man is facing felony drug charges for allegedly having 100 grams of methamphetamine in addition to heroin and crack cocaine when his residence was searched Feb. 2.

Multiple agencies including Pennsylvania State Police, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Attorney General’s Office and Lawrence Township Police assisted with the search of the home of Robert Alan Charles, 40, of Mineral Springs.

As they were approaching the house, an officer saw a second story window open and a man later confirmed to be Charles, putting a mason jar on the roof. He then closed the window, according to the affidavit.

Entry was made into the residence and multiple people detained, police reported.

During an interview, Charles admitted to putting the jar on the roof. He reportedly stated that he had just received 6 ounces of methamphetamine of which he had already sold 2 ounces.

The jar was found to contain 100 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of heroin and 7 grams of crack cocaine, according to the criminal complaint.

Additional containers with small amounts of methamphetamine and other suspected drugs were also located in the home.

Charles, who is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and misdemeanor intentional possession of a controlled substance, waived his right to a preliminary hearing during centralized court on Wednesday, sending the case on to the court of common pleas.

His bail was lowered from $500,000 cash to $500,000, unsecured.

Starting at $3.83/week.
