Misty Dawn Elder, 49, of Altoona, entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Tuesday evening at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness. She was born in Roaring Spring, the daughter of Vicki (Davis) Finnegan and the late Alan Finnegan.
Misty is survived by her mother, Vicki Finnegan (Rocco Scalzi) of Hollidaysburg; her son, Tyler Elder (fiancee, Kylie Mae) of Altoona; daughter, Emily Elder in California; five grandchildren: Braxton, Abrina, Thalia, Oliver and Elora; her sister, Kortney Seilhamer of Altoona; and her nieces: Alexis, Addyson and Payton.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Karen Manocchio, Dick and Donna Finnegan.
Misty enjoyed making crafts, especially the diamond dots, and going on outings and activities with the deaf community. She was an avid fan of Imagine Wrestling, but she ultimately loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Misty showed tremendous courage and strength over the last several months. She was one of the strongest people you could have ever met and will be forever missed.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2026, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the Stevens Memorial Chapel.
Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
