PSU offers pesticide course

UNIVERSITY PARK — Pesticide applicators planning to take the Pennsylvania certification exam can benefit by attending the “Commercial Pesticide Applicator Short Course,” hosted by Penn State Extension.

Penn State Extension will offer a virtual Commercial Pesticide Applicators Short Course beginning Feb. 8. The online course will offer instruction for individuals that are preparing for Pennsylvania pesticide applicator certification exams for the Core, Category 6 (Ornamentals and Shade Trees), Category 7 (Lawn and Turf), Category 10 (Right of Way), and Category 23 (Parks/Schools).

All sections of the course will be offered in a webinar format. Core and Category 10 sections will be available in February. Categories 6 and 7 will be offered in March, and Category 23 will be held in early April.

Registration is required. The cost for the Core session is $50 and each Category session is $25. Maximum cost to be charged for a combination of sessions is $75.
