A brief look at hires, promotions, awards and honors

New hires and promotions

Greg Wendt has been hired by Reliance Bank as vice president and senior commercial banker to play a key role in cultivating and managing business relationships in the Bellefonte area for its new Bellefonte branch, scheduled to open in early 2026.

Wendt’s nearly 30 years of experience in commercial lending and banking will help to support local businesses looking to grow in the rapidly expanding Centre County region.

Nichole McClellan, assistant branch manager, will lead day-to-day operations at the Bellefonte branch. Before joining Reliance Bank, McClellan worked in financial service roles locally, where she built strong relationships with residents and local businesses.

Awards and honors

Gregory F. Krug, founder, president and CEO of Lampire Biological Laboratories, which has a facility in Everett, was recently honored with the ICON Honors Award.

Krug was selected by a panel of three judges from among several applicants to receive the prestigious 2025 ICON Honors Award, which recognizes distinguished business leaders over the age of 60 who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professional achievement and meaningful impact on the Greater Lehigh Valley region.

Krug founded Lampire Biological Laboratories in 1977 and has served as president and CEO for nearly five decades. Under his leadership, Lampire has grown into an internationally recognized biotechnology partner, employing more than 200 professionals across Bucks, Bedford and Lehigh counties.

Retirements

Ray Ryan, a long-time employee and board member of Sheetz Inc., has retired.

Since joining the board of directors in 2019, Ryan has provided invaluable guidance and strategic insights, drawing on more than four decades of his dedicated work across various departments at Sheetz.

Ryan’s remarkable tenure is marked by the pivotal impacts he made in shaping the Sheetz brand, pioneering several initiatives that have helped make Sheetz the company it is today. Ryan managed the rollout of Sheetz’s award-winning Made-to-Order menu and spearheaded the development of Sheetz’s first distribution center, which enhanced the company’s delivery network and supported its growth.

He began his career with Sheetz in 1977 as a store manager and went on to hold positions across various departments over his career, including Security, Operations, Marketing and Distribution.

Appointments

Dave Woodley has been appointed to Sheetz Board of Directors to succeed Ryan.

Woodley, who has worked for Sheetz since 1983, most recently served as executive vice president of marketing. He began his career at Sheetz as a part-time third-shift salesperson and steadily advanced his way to management roles within the company. After serving as director of regional operations, he was promoted to lead Sheetz’s sales and marketing department, where he has been instrumental in the development and promotion of key foodservice programs, including MTO, Sheetz Bros. Coffee, MTGo! and Shweetz.
