KYIV — Russia has launched a massive aerial attack on Ukraine, targeting civilian areas with hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles.

Officials say the assault killed at least 16 people and injured over 100. The attack, which stretched from daytime into the night, is the largest in almost two weeks.

Chipmaker reports 58-percent profit jump

HONG KONG — Taiwan’s chipmaker TSMC has reported a 58% jump in profit for the January-March quarter thanks to strong demand driven by the artificial intelligence boom even as the Iran war was driving up costs.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp., reported a record net profit of $18.1 billion for the last quarter, better than analysts had expected.
