Grant supports mental health, addiction recovery JOHNSTOWN –– Pennsylvania Highlands Community College student Julius Colabove II of Altoona was awarded a $500 PA Maslow Mental Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, which funded his project to promote mental health and drug and alcohol recovery. Colabove hosted a tabling event at the college’s Blair Center in mid-March, where he created gift bags that were distributed to students. Summer STEM coming to Hollidaysburg

Camp Invention, a nationally recognized, nonprofit summer enrichment program, is coming to Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School the week of July 14-17. A program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Camp Invention challenges children in kindergarten through sixth grade to tap into their natural curiosity and use their creativity to solve problems. Young Entrepreneurs Academy to recognize Class of ’25 graduates

Twenty local students representing nineteen self-made businesses are set to graduate from the Blair County Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!). Throughout the 25-week program students received the necessary tools to launch their very own IRS-registered business. Sessions included mentoring from industry experts, field trips and an investor panel event in which students pitched their business plans to local investors for financial backing.
