Foundation to host annual chef auction

JOHNSTOWN –– The Pennsylvania Highlands Community College Foundation will hold its third annual Chef Auction fundraiser at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center in downtown Johnstown. All proceeds from the event go toward the Supporting Scholars Fund and future Culinary Arts scholarships. The first two events raised more than $118,000 for student scholarships. The evening will begin with a cocktail hour and silent auction. Pa. Highlands plans open houses

On campus Pa. Highlands plans open houses JOHNSTOWN –– Pennsylvania Highlands Community College will host Fall Admissions & Athletics Open Houses on Monday, Oct. 13, and Tuesday, Nov. 11. The events will take place at the college’s Richland Campus, as well as its locations in Altoona, Bellefonte, Ebensburg and Somerset. BG students honored

Bishop Guilfoyle Academy presented the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence to eight students. These recipients rank in the top 15% of their class based on their junior year cumulative grade point average. They exhibit discipline and drive to excel academically, demonstrate the characteristics that positively reflect Bishop Guilfoyle Academy and receive recommendation by 75% of faculty. The honorees are Gia Adams, Rebekah Adams, Leah Byrne, Hailey DeGol, Adrian Diaz Marlin, Lauren Lehman, Aidan Schurr and Jacob Sutton.
