Nittany Writers to meet Sept. 8

Poet and author Marjorie Maddox Hafer will speak at the Nittany Valley Writers’ Network meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the Schlow Library Community Room, 211 S. Allen St., State College. Doors open at 6 p.m. She will present “Poems, Prose & Prompts: A Reading with Ideas for Your Writing.” The reading will include prompts to get the group thinking and writing. Scholarship honors legacy of former C-K teacher

The Paul A. Bozella Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Alicia Musselman, a graduating senior at Claysburg-Kimmel High School. The $1,000 scholarship was presented in memory of Paul A. Bozella, a beloved teacher at Claysburg-Kimmel for 30 years. Alicia will attend Penn State Altoona this fall, where she plans to study animal science. Contributions can be made to the nonprofit Paul A. Bozella Memorial Scholarship Fund at 506 Central Ave., Cresson, PA 16630 or through First Commonwealth Bank.
