The Altoona Symphony Orchestra will perform a Star Spangled Symphony concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at PNG Field. The gates will open at 6:30 for pre-concert entertainment. Admission is free.

Blue Knob State Park, Imler, will present several mushroom-themed programs on Saturday, June 20. From 3 to 4 p.m. in the Buck Hill Amphitheater, join John Plischke III from Western Mushroom Club to take a hike on Chappells Field Trail while learning about all the mushrooms in the area. If you have a mushroom that you would like identified, feel free to bring it with you. From 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. you will have the opportunity to make your own oyster mushroom bag kit in the Buck Hill Amphitheater. All supplies are provided. ArtsAltoona will host the “America 250 Photography Exhibition” from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the ArtsAltoona Center, 2212 Sixth Ave., Altoona. The event is free and celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States through a juried photography exhibition featuring selected works from area amateur photographers. Guests are invited to view the exhibition and participate in Fan Favorite voting from 12 to 3:30 p.m. Voting tickets will be available, with $5 getting you six votes to use for your favorite photos. The photograph receiving the most votes will be recognized with the Fan Favorite Award.
The Community Arts Center of Cambria County will present the Log Art Theatre musical production of “Little Shop of Horrors” at the M. The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Bedford is excited to welcome young artists this summer for five days of hands-on creativity, imagination and artistic exploration led by teaching artist Emily Russell. Designed for children and teens who love to create, SAMA’s summer camps encourage students to experiment with new materials, techniques, and ideas while having fun in an inspiring museum setting. The camp will run from Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art located at the historic Anderson House at 137 E. Pitt St., Bedford. The first camp for children aged six to nine will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day and the second camp for students 10 to 14 will run from 1 to 4 p.m. daily. The cost is $125 per child. Pitt St., Bedford. Participants will build skills in color mixing, shapes, shadows, substrates, and abstract watercolor exploration. The annual Huntingdon County Juneteenth Celebration will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Portstown Park in Huntingdon. The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Bedford’s Summer Painting Workshops series concludes with “Intro to Casein Painting Workshop,” from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the historic Anderson House at 137 E. Pitt St., Bedford. Led by artist Collin Cessna, the class introduces participants to casein paint, a versatile medium known for its matte finish and vibrant color. Students will explore casein painting techniques for landscapes, portraits, wildlife, and still life subjects. The workshop is open to beginners and experienced artists alike, with all supplies provided. Cost is $35 per person for ages 18 and older. Registration is encouraged by June 22.
