Sale benefits musical group

Fundraiser yard sales to support the Keystone Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps will be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, and Saturday, Sept. 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 408 N. Sixth St., in the Juniata section of Altoona. Items will include antiques, furniture, appliances, household items, toys, books, seasonal items and craft supplies. All proceeds will be used to support the Altoona-based drum and bugle corps to help defray equipment and travel expenses for the upcoming season. Forest management top of discussion

The Allegheny Mountain Woodland Association will host a program on how geology and topography affect forest management from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Ebensburg Borough Building Meeting Room, 300 W. High St. Scott Weikert, a forest resources educator with Penn State Extension, will discuss how local geology and topography influence soils, water, tree species and forest management decisions.
