Forest management top of discussion

The Allegheny Mountain Woodland Association will host a program on how geology and topography affect forest management from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Ebensburg Borough Building Meeting Room, 300 W. High St.

Scott Weikert, a forest resources educator with Penn State Extension, will discuss how local geology and topography influence soils, water, tree species and forest management decisions.

The program is free and open to the public. Coffee and snacks will be provided. Preregistration is not required, but attendees are encouraged to call 814-472-8560 so organizers can estimate attendance.
