Great American Auction seeks donations

Online event to be held March 27

The Community Arts Center of Cambria County’s annual 36th Great American Auction will again be an online auction.

CACCC is still calling and requesting new and gently used quality items.

While still hosted by the Community Arts Center of Cambria County on Friday, March 27, it will be featured solely through an online platform with Mishler Auction Services.

The Great American Auction is a vital part of CACCC’s infrastructure as an annual fundraiser, generating much-needed funds to support the overall educational, community engagement, and operating expenses.

These funds allow CACCC to maintain its excellent quality in classes, workshops and summer camps, art-based activities to reach children, adults, seniors and a wide variety of outreach initiatives in the community.

This year’s Great American Auction goal is to raise a modest $10,000 with community support.

Every dollar made goes back into the community through programs and empowers CACCC to offer free exhibits, a free Coffee House series, free admission to its festivals and free community programs and classes for underserved children and adults.

There will be an in-person, live preview at the CACCC site location from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, where individuals can see the items that will be available for bid.

Online viewing on the Mishler Auction site began the week of Feb. 23, with items added daily.

The auction soft close bidding will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, March 27, with pickup at the Community Arts Center of Cambria County, 1217 Menoher Blvd. in the Westmont section of Johnstown, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28. Staff and volunteers will be available to help bidders pay for their items and load their vehicles.

All attendees can register at https://mishlerauction.com/ by clicking on the “HOW TO BID” section to setup their registration for viewing and bidding.

The auction includes new merchandise, gift baskets, hift cards and gift certificates, along with antiques & collectibles, and gently used items.

There are coupon vouchers for vacations, trips, getaways and overnight stay packages available for bid. There are also brand-new electronics and appliances.

All items are donated by Community Arts Center’s members and friends, local businesses and business leaders. There are an abundance of more than 50 miscellaneous gift cards, and certificates, and tickets to events both local and statewide.

While there is a large variety of items, CACCC needs the community’s help to increase the number of dynamic items donated. CACCC is looking for furniture, artwork, gently used items, functioning electronics, antiques and/or collectibles.

A list of the businesses who donated items, as well as pictures of items up for bid, will be available on the Community Arts Center’s website: www.caccc.org, as of Friday, March 13th. The list and items will then be continuously updated.

Starting at $2.99/week.
