The ceremony, attended by the students, parents, club members and guests, was held at the clubhouse.
Bishop Guilfoyle art teacher Neil Young introduced the winning BGHS students. Young’s students displayed their paintings, as well as mixed media and design.
Three art teachers represented Altoona Area High. Kathryn Curry introduced the winning art students from her classes, whose media included acrylic paint and colored pencil.
Eric Hoover’s students displayed ceramics and graphite drawing.
Ron Bowser’s students presented their work in tempera paint, as well as epoxy resin.
All of the students talked about their art as to inspiration, technique, and level of difficulty. Each winning art student received a certificate and a monetary award.
Club members served light refreshments. Committee members were Mary K DeLeo, Jacklyn Grove, Janet Grove, LuAnn Hallinan, Sandra Hollen, Maureen Kirsch, Sharlene Kirsch and Deborah Thomas.
