Altoona Symphony Orchestra ready for holiday performance

The Altoona Symphony Orchestra will present its “Holiday Spectacular” concert at Altoona Area High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 under guest conductor Maestra Rebekah O’Brien.
The symphony will collaborate with the Blair Concert Chorale, the Altoona Area High School Vocal Ensemble, vocalist Kera O’Bryon, violinist Stephanie Everett, the Grace Notes Handbell Choir and the Altoona Youth Orchestra. Audiences will enjoy a mix of holiday orchestral favorites and a joyous sing-along.
A State College resident, O’Brien is orchestra director at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and assistant conductor of the York Symphony Orchestra. She previously served as orchestra director of the Juniata College Orchestra. She earned a master’s in orchestral conducting and music theory from Pennsylvania State University, where she studied with Maestro Gerardo Edelstein.
