Cresson Lake to stage musical comedy ‘Catch Me If You Can’

Based on a true story, teenager Frank Abignale Jr. begins an unforgettable adventure which comes to life in Cresson Lake Playhouse’s production of the musical comedy “Catch Me If You Can.”
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on July 25-29 and Aug. 1-5 and at 2 p.m. July 30 at the Cresson Lake Barn Theatre at 279 Shapiro Road in Loretto.
Abignale, played by Davey Beyer of Ebensburg, uses his boyish charm, imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks to create an imposter’s life as a pilot, doctor and a lawyer. On his trail is FBI agent Carl Hanratty, portrayed by Josh Duman of Ebensburg, who pursues Frank across the country. The cast also includes Jessica Davis as Paula Abignale, Taylor Koenigsberg as Brenda Strong, with Alex Koenigsberg, Ethan Wesner and Bradyn Yahner as FBI agents.
In the director’s chair is CLP’s Paul Seymour, who describes the musical as “a wild romp while the main character tries to find his place in the world.” Choreography is under the direction of Sierra Gdula.
