Duane and Diane Misiura

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Misiura of Hollidaysburg recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mass was celebrated at 4 p.m. Aug. 10 by Father Matthew Reese at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, Lilly. A family dinner was held following Mass.
The couple were married Aug. 10, 1974, at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Lilly. Mrs. Misiura is the former Diane Leahey.
They have three children: Christine Capone (Vincent), Duane Misiura Jr. (Jen Koehle) and Melissa Wade (Larry). They also have six grandchildren: Sage and Jude Capone, Damon and Kaley Misiura and Sierra and Skylar Wade.
Duane retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. Following graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Duane is a life member of the Lilly Knights of Columbus, Lilly Volunteer Fire Company and was treasurer of the Lilly Area Ambulance Association from 1983 until its closing in 2011. He was also an EMT and driver for the association for several years. After Duane’s retirement from Norfolk Southern, he worked as an EMT for the Altoona Curve, drove for Wilkinson’s Bus Lines, then for Senior Life in Ebensburg.
Duane is a member of the Lilly American Legion Honor Guard.
Diane worked for several years in the Penn Cambria School District before retiring from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. She was billing secretary for the Lilly Area Ambulance Association for many years, where she also drove ambulance.
The couple are members of Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, Lilly. They resided in Lilly their entire lives before moving to Hollidaysburg in 2018.
