Charles and Linda Wolf

Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Wolf of Altoona celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday with a Holy Mass, concelebrated by Rev. Father Brian Saylor, Rev. Father Carl Spishak and Rev. Father James Crookston with the assistance of Rev. Deacon James Woomer at St. Rose of Lima Church, Altoona.

After Mass, a reception was held at the Altoona Grand Hotel. Relatives of Linda from the Philippines, Arizona and California joined them in celebrating the anniversary.

Linda Ragot and Charles Wolf were united in marriage Dec. 20, 1969, at San Isidro Labrador Catholic Church in Medina, Misamis Oriental, the Philippines. The nuptial Mass was officiated by Rev. Father William Adams, a Columban missionary in Medina.

Charles was a Peace Corps volunteer assigned to help with the teaching of mathematics at the Medina National Comprehensive High School where Linda was teaching English, Pilipino and Spanish.

After Charles’ service ended in July 1970, they relocated to Altoona. Tyrone Area School District hired him to teach mathematics in the high school, where he retired in 2005. He also taught at Penn State Altoona.

Linda worked in sales at Sears and Macy’s in the Logan Valley Mall.

They have two daughters. Kathy Wolf of Altoona and Dr. Kristy Subik of Albany, N.Y.

They have three grandsons, Spencer, Avery and Xavier Subik.
