Wilbur C. Derencin, 88, of Altoona, passed away Thursday at Van Zandt VA Medical Center. He was born in Somerset, son of the late Clifford V. and Geneva I. (Felton) Derencin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce E. Shaffer, on Aug. 20, 2018; a brother, Bernard; and three sisters: JoAnn, Betty and Wilma. Surviving are his son, Eric Derencin (Michelle); a sister, Barbara Harris; a brother, Donald Derencin; and several nieces and nephews. Sam married Beverly Helsel on Dec. 17, 1999.
