Penn State Altoona will host nine community dance classes throughout June and July. No prior experience is required. There is a $50 registration fee for each four-week section. All classes will be held in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts, and participants may bring a water bottle.
■ Creative Movement -- 6 to 7 p.m. June 22 and 29 and July 6 and 13.
■ Foundational Dance Technique through Creativity, ages 7-9 -- 4 to 5 p.m. June 22 and 29 and July 6 and 13.
■ Tap Through Sound Exploration, ages 8-13 -- 3 to 4 p.m. June 22 and 29 and July 6 and 13.
■ Dance Technique through Creativity, ages 10-13 -- 5 to 6 p.m. June 22 and 29 and July 6 and 13.
■ Scottish Highland Dance, ages 6-8 -- 4:30 to 5 p.m. June 21 and 28 and July 5 and 12. Dancers should wear shorts or leggings with a T-shirt or tank top (no jeans or jean shorts), socks or bare feet, long hair pulled back
■ Scottish Highland Dance, ages 9-11 -- 5 to 6 p.m. June 21 and 28 and July 5 and 12. Dancers should wear shorts or leggings with a T-shirt or tank top (no jeans or jean shorts), socks or bare feet, long hair pulled back
■ Scottish Highland Dance, ages 12-17 -- 6 to 7 p.m. June 21 and 28 and July 5 and 12. Dancers should wear shorts or leggings with a T-shirt or tank top (no jeans or jean shorts), socks or bare feet, long hair pulled back
■ Scottish Highland Dance, adults -- 7 to 8 p.m. June 21 and 28 and July 5 and 12. Dancers should wear shorts or leggings with a T-shirt or tank top (no jeans or jean shorts), socks or bare feet, long hair pulled back
■ YPB Fusion -- 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. July 3, 10, 17 and 24. This class will combine yoga, Pilates and ballet exercises creating a strong core and toned muscles, while increasing flexibility, balance, and musicality. Wear comfortable athletic wear with socks or bare feet. Bring a mat or towel
